Spirit Ocean Adventure Update - Day 17

July 21, 2010

Tonight's update is from student crew Jacob K:

Today was a very pleasant day. First we had a delicious breakfast followed by a 45-minute slumber. Then, after waking up for the second time this morning, we put all of our stuff away and cleaned out our bunks. After cleaning the smell out of our bunks, we had a very nice and cold swim call. Swim call is when we get a chance to jump off the boat and into the cool salty water. The water for the swim call today was quite pleasant. The only hard part about a swim call in New England is that the water is really cold, today it was so cold that it made Mr. Doug scurry out of the water like a little child. Seeing Mr. Doug scurry like that was really funny but it also made the water seem even colder!

After our very cold swim call, we sailed on over to Boston. Later this evening, we will have a talent show and will give out awards. With the hours of the trip winding down, no one will want to say their goodbyes. It's sad to realize that we'll have to even though we don't want to.
