Today is the final day of this sail and students will disembark from the Charleston Maritime Center at 2:00 pm. The crew witnessed and fostered much growth in the 20 students aboard. As they return to land, they will be a bit less clean and a bit more tired than when they first set foot on the Spirit one week ago. The real transformations which run deeper than weariness and outward appearances will be borne out in the next several days, weeks and months. We look forward to 5 more weeks with these students and want to thank all of the families, community members and others who have helped provide this experience to 40 fortunate young men and women.
