As the sun rises over Fort Sumter trainees begin to come on deck to wash their faces and brush their teeth. Throughout the night each trainee, with their mate or deckhand, has taken turns making sure the ship is safe. As we sit anchored trainees make sure the ship does not move and no water is filling our bilges. Yesterday was a busy day with sailing on the open ocean, learning knots and taking a plankton sample. We ended the day with 'Boat Jeopardy' in which C Watch took the win. Today brings many more new experiences including a water quality class and some time on the beach. Everyone on board is enjoying meals from our cook Laura and becoming use to a ship's routine.
