Another day underway! Today we spent the day learning how to maneuver the boat. Students spent the day in watches learning to tie knots and learning the lines of the sails. They are now experts at setting 3 sails and turning the boat using her sails. After a beautiful day sailing and performing water quality tests students warmed up their muscles to practice for Schooner Olympics. Schooner Olympics is a competition between watches that has students competing to put on their emergency suits the fastest and participating in a variety of relay races. We have left the harbor and will sail overnight out on the ocean. Everyone is looking forward to learning more about our new community and spending time at sea together.
