Today, 21 of the 2009 Summer Program Graduates arrived at the Charleston Maritime Center at 7:30 am on the first day of their spring break. Rather than having a lazy break, these students have chosen to work hard towards developing greater teamwork and leadership skills during the next 5 days aboard the Spirit of South Carolina.
Below is today's update from Letha Bailey:
Today when we got on the boat, we first found out where we were sleeping. Then we had orientation and went over safety drills. Next we ate a snack, got into our watches and did some activities. Then we began our watches. When we finished watches we ate dinner. After dinner, my watch cleaned and then went to bed. We will wake up at 12:00 for 12-4 watch. It's been great to see each other again and we're all looking forward to spending more time on the boat and with each other.
